Captain: Achille Lefrere
Captain Achille was born and raised in Porto-Vecchio, in one of the best places for sailing in the Western Mediterranean, where he developed a strong passion for the sea.
With a dream to circumnavigate the globe, within a year spent in Australia, Achille acquired all the certification needed to work on a yacht and joined a 30 m sailing catamaran. He has gained valuable skills and extensive knowledge since then and is nowhere more at home than at the helm. With more than 10 years at sea, Achille has taken vessels to many parts of the world, including Mediterranean, Egypt, Caribbean, Bahamas, the East coast of the USA, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.
An experienced navigator and marine engineer, advanced open water PADI diver and kite surfer, Achille has a generous amount of knowledge to share and takes great pride in creating tailor-made sailing experience for each charter on board OTOCTONE 80.
Chef: Jean-Baptiste Redreau
Chef Jean Baptiste comes from Toulon where he grew up sailing with his family around the Mediterranean from the age of 7. From that time he became so enthusiastic about sailing that as an adult he has completed necessary maritime qualifications and participated in numerous regattas.
Cooking has always been his passion. Prior to turning it into a career, Jean Baptiste expressed his creativity in art and graphic design. It was more than 10 years ago when he embarked on his first culinary adventure as a cook. Since then he acquired solid culinary experience and developed refined culinary skills to deliver flawless service to his guests.
Well versed in the Mediterranean cuisine, he will impress guests on board OTOCTONE 80 with his signature dishes rich with flavours and fresh ingredients.
Deckhand: Pierre Tafani
Pierre was born and raised in Porto-Vecchio, just like Captain Achille.
Very young and passionate about the sea, he started to practice freediving, spearfishing and attended the Porto-Vecchio sailing school. When he was 11, scuba diving made him realize that the sea is what makes him who he is. At the age of 17, he obtained a diploma in marine mechanics, then moved to Paris where he lived for several years working as a movie location manager and then web content manager at Lacoste. However, a time has come when the call of the sea was too strong. He spent a year in Brittany where he obtained his state diploma as a scuba diving instructor. He then returned to his native island of Corsica where he worked for two seasons as a Chief Diving Instructor in a club. Gradually, the idea of sailing towards the other waters took over and he obtained a diploma of a professional seaman in Nice.
Pierre puts his professional attitude, social skills and his multiple professional competencies at the service of the guests and is happy to share with them his passion for the marine and underwater environment.
Stewardess: Kelly Bellon
Kelly grew up in Antibes and got interested in water sports and travel early on. At first she got acquainted with boating through her first job as a Stewardess / Deckhand on a 21m yacht for 6 summer seasons, as well as during 3 winters in Australia and the Pacific region. She also had the opportunity to work as a Chief Stewardess on a superyacht, to follow the yacht’s construction in Italy and to manage a crew of 3 people.
Kelly is a well-organized and multitalented professional who can adapt easily to different situations and maintain a high level of services at all times. Her aim is to create a good atmosphere and make guests comfortable during their vacation on board Otoctone 80.
